i finally did it

well, after much debate and thought, i've finally devoted to devote a little piece of my blog to getting rid of mr. bush . . .the final straw came as i was writing my last post (see below). so, i've added a little "beat bush" session to my side menu - take a look if you wish - if not, that's ok too - i just feel better knowing it's there. in my quest to gather links, this was on of the best things i saw . . . enjoy. . .

and the reason people aren't going nuts about this is????

it's amazing that the 'leader' of our country can send us to war over the fact that there were weapons of mass distruction, then, a year later, when the tune has been changed, he can joke about it, and nobody seems to care. yeah, there are stories about it here and there, but it is slowly slipping off the radar and to the back page. the short term memory of people in this country amazes me, the fact that people know they have been lied to and don't care amazes me, and that fact that there is still a question about whether our current 'president' is doing a good job . . .well, that just fuckin' floors me. while i am not supremely head over heels for any candidate, vote for kerry! give him money! otherwise, we've got this to look forward to for the next four years:

seems like a pretty easy choice to me. . . .

sick

i've been sick the last three days and in no mood to do anything - i have been working from ewa's couch though. i ended up cancelling my business trip to DC, and i think it is finally time to see the doctor. i was motivated to post from a picture i saw from the drudge report that i just had to share - finally janet is fighting back. . .

good enough for me

well, it seems that a lot of people i know are out doing exciting things this weekend (including ewa who is in dallas for a bachelorette party!!), and thats all well and good for them - i am happy to be doing absolutely nothing this weekend. . .well, strike that, i did make it to boot camp at baker beach, but since then i have been sitting in my friend gary's basement watching college basketball, eating, and spending some serious time with my herbal friend - it feels good!!

we have since ajourned back to my house to. . .watch more basketball, eat, and start drinking - it is 7:30 for christ's sake. we're planning on going out tonight - gary has already told me he is going to get drunk and fall flat on his face, literally and figuratively. i really wish i had a digital camera to catch those preciuos memories and quickly post them on the web the next day.

i've got a big margarita staring me in the face - the choice between writing more and drinking is not a tough one.

being irish

feeling like to much crap to really write anything interesting today - i didnt actually drink the much, but when ewa dragged me out of bed for boot camp at 5:30, it sure felt like i did.

i survived boot camp and i am surviving the day - tonight is dinner with the parents at the polish restaurant in sf - maybe some pickled herring will cure me. . .

saw this on www.gawker.com - there's also a t-shirt version - if you want to order it, go ahead and click - do you have to be a jew to wear it?

open sesame . . .

saw this on the drudge report - the new urinals at the mens room in the virgin airways club house at JFK - i love this country:

as if tennesse doesn't get a bad rap already . . .

another step down the evolutionary ladder - check it out.

luck of the irish

happy st. patricks day to all. to all my irish brethren, we made it one more year - let's eat potatoes, drink guiness, and revel in the fact that we can drink our own weight in whiskey. for all my non irish brethren, use this day as an excuse to get drunk on a wednesday!

sell out!

all you folks out there who go to shows and get pissed off to see a bunch of teeny boppers there and roll your eyes, read this(at the very least read #3 and the addendum) you prentious pricks!!! (thanks to my local blog master willo for originally posting this)

fun in the sun

well, i survived my business trip to san diego . . . the weather was phenomenal of course, and we were very successful on the work side of things to. we ended having an incredible 'expense account' dinner in ja jolla at georges - we drank greag wine and had even better food (the foie gras was divine), then ended up drinking back at the hotel until way too late. . . thursday morning came way to quickly and very painfully . . .

i made it back to home thursday afternoon in one piece, and after my 2nd successful polish lesson, took it veeeerrry easy the rest of the night. i got to work from home on friday as did ewa and with the beautiful weather, it lent itself well to a nice lunchtime jog to cirssy field - ewa is still whooping my ass in the pace department, but i am slowly catching up . . . :) we had an early night, since ewa and her roommate were heading up to tahoe early this morning, and i headed out to the 9am bootcamp at baker beach. after a great workout, it has been a very quiet and relaxed day in the city - i met my mom in north beach where we sat out on columnbus and had a nice lunch. since then i have been sinning against nature and sitting around watching college basketball and doing a little cleaning. . . even though it is beautiful outside, it's been nice to relax.

tonight i'm having dinner with ewa's dad - he's flying into sf (he's a pilot for continental) and i'm a bit nervous - it's our first time spending time alone. . .he's a nice guy, so it should be fine. . . ok - i'm off to get clean and presentable and respectable (ok, i know that's pushing it. . .) for dinner tonight. . .

off to the beach

the weekend in tahoe went off without any major hitches - the weather was gorgeous and the skiing was pretty good, but the in the end, the weather was the real winner. close to 70 degrees on saturday and sunday at the base and still arond 55-60 up top - you can't beat it. . . ewa and i took a free advanced lesson on how to ski moguls which is really one of the only skills still missing from out aresnal of ski talent! we learned quite few things, and with a little practice, i can see us mastering those moguls some time next season. . . i think.

after three days of skiing and getting in late sunday night, the 5am wake up for bootcamp was criminal, but ewa and i made it out there in the balmy morning air (for those of you not in san francisco, we are having an unusual but welcome warm spell) and fulfilled our boot camp duties. we made it out again this morning, and tomorrow respite will be much appreciated. . .

i'm heading to san diego this afternoon on a little bidness trip, looking forward to some nice warm beach weather - hopefully i can squeeze in some fun in the sun between meetings. . .

off to the snow

it's a beautiful day in the city today, and it's suppossed to be even more beautiful in tahoe this weekend. luckily, this is the weekend ewa and i choose to take friday off and spend three days in tahoe. my friends devora and rafeal are joining us, as well as my mom, my sister sarah, and my aunt cindy, all who decided to come at the last minute. should be a good weekend, with good snow, and hopefully some good booze in there somewhere. . .

this has been a pretty slow week so far - working a lot, still busting my ass at boot camp, and i also took my first polish lesson! soon ewa and i will be able to talk about all of you right in front of you and you'll have no idea what we are saying. . . .i bet you are all counting the days.

i want to leave you all with some links to check out. now in most cases, when i get a forwarded joke or message from someone, i read it and delete, when it is especially good, i share it with a few friends, and if it makes me roll on the ground, well, then i guess i should post it. . . .

here are a few commercials from trojan - if you dont have high speed, they are worth the wait. . .probably don't want to watch them at work either. . .

commercial #1
commercial #2
commercial #3

ok - i'm off to hit the slopes - hopefully i come back in one piece. . .

oscar sunday

even though i hate the oscars and the fact that the really, really, really good moives never win (this realization came after 'forrest gump' beat out 'pulp fiction'), i do end up catching pieces here and there every year, and this year was no different. mainly becuase i wanted to see if the 'lord of the rings' would win, and hoping to god bill murray would win for best actor, just to see his speech. however, even though i haven't seen 'mystic river' (hoping to see it tonight), i am sure sean penn deserved the win. also, i wanted to see what everyone was wearing. . . .tim goodman wrote a great review of the oscars here.

also, week two of boot camp started today. . . at 6am. . . in the rain. . . yes, yes, i am a champ.
